Dhīmahi (Sanskrit word धीमही) means wisdom.
A word derived from the verb root Dhī (धी).
The natural meaning of Dhīmahi is 'to meditate up" or the "activity of the mind" with "full imagination and the intellect."
Creative Thoughts to Inspire.
When we chant or reflect on Dhimahi, we are saying: "May we focus our highest intellect to absorb and reflect the divine light of truth."

Between the leather bindings and the screen,
A bridge of timeless light begins to gleam.
I trace the syllables of ancient seers,
Whose voices echo down three thousand years.
They whispered Dhimahi—to meditate, reflect—
A sacred compass for the intellect.
It is not reading just to fill the mind,
But leaving heavy certainties behind.
The Vedas call it gathering the spark,
A quiet lantern lit against the dark.
To hold a thought, to let it breathe and grow,
Until the intellect begins to know.
I close the book, but still the pages speak,
Inspiring the deep answers that I seek.
My mind, once restless like a crowded street,
Becomes a temple where two rivers meet:
The objective truth written in the text,
And my own soul, wondering what is next.
To meditate, to understand, to see,
The truth that binds the cosmos and binds me.
Dhīmahi is the breath between the lines,
The hidden gold the quiet reader finds.
The books are closed, the daylight starts to fade,
But in the clarity, a soul is remade.
